There is no women-only list, but women are a special category: 35% subsidy in rural and 25% in urban areas, 5% own share. Which service sector projects are allowed under PMEGP? Service projects can cost up to ₹20 lakh. Is there a new PMEGP project list for 2026? No. PMEGP was approved for 2021-22 to 2025-26 (to 31 Mar 2026), and as of 13 Oct 2026 we found no notification continuing it. This list follows the 2021-26 guidelines and the KVIC / KVIB illustrative lists. Confirm with kviconline.gov.in or your DIC / KVIB before applying.

What is on the PMEGP negative list? Meat (slaughtered) businesses; intoxicants like beedi, paan, cigarettes; hotels or dhabas serving liquor; tobacco; toddy tapping; crop cultivation and plantations (processing them is allowed); polythene carry bags below the notified thickness; and rural transport (with a few exceptions). Dairy, poultry, aquaculture and bee-keeping are allowed.

How do I choose the right PMEGP project? Pick work you have experience or training in, whose raw material is available nearby and which has local demand. Then make a free project report for costs and earnings, check your subsidy on the PMEGP subsidy calculator, and talk to your bank / DIC.

Where are KVIC’s official list and project profiles? KVIC’s PMEGP e-portal (kviconline.gov.in) has model project profiles and the negative list, and state KVIBs publish their own “list of industries”. These lists are illustrative, not complete, and differ slightly between states.
