Kerala pays ₹2,000 a month under each of its five social security pensions: old age (60+), widow, disability (40%+), unmarried women above 50 and agricultural labour (60+). The amount went up from ₹1,600 from November 2025; the new UDF government has promised ₹3,000 but no order has been issued yet*. The family’s yearly income must be within ₹1 lakh*, and you cannot get it together with a service or welfare-board pension. Check yours below.

Who is not eligible
- Family income above ₹1 lakh a year*.
- Anyone getting a government / service pension or a welfare fund board pension (only one pension).
- Families with a car above 1,000 cc (except taxis), a house above 2,000 sq ft, or more than 2 acres of land*; the state is reviewing these norms in 2026 (for example, an AC at home should no longer disqualify*).
- Income-tax payers and government employees in the family*.
Mustering and status
- Every pensioner must do annual mustering (Aadhaar fingerprint or face authentication) at an Akshaya centre; bed-ridden people can ask for home mustering.
- Status and payment history: welfarepension.lsgkerala.gov.in (Sevana pension portal) with your pension ID or Aadhaar*.
- The pension is paid monthly to the bank account or at home through co-operative bank agents; delays happen when the state releases funds late, and arrears are paid together*.
- Apply at your panchayat / municipality with income certificate, age proof, Aadhaar, ration card and bank details.
Disability and other special pensions
Persons with 80% or more disability, and some with intellectual disability, may also get additional state help*; check with the panchayat. Welfare fund boards (construction, fishermen, motor workers, etc.) pay their own pensions, but you must choose one pension.
