KSFE Chitty Calculator 2026: Prize Amount, Dividend and Real Cost of Your Chitty

In a KSFE chitty of ₹1,00,000 for 50 months you pay ₹2,000 a month. If a member takes the prize at the maximum 30% discount, the winner gets ₹70,000 minus GST on the commission (₹69,100), KSFE keeps 5% (₹5,000) as commission, and the remaining ₹25,000 is shared by all 50 members: ₹500 each, so everyone pays only ₹1,500 that month. Taking the prize early at a high discount works like a loan; waiting till the end works like a deposit. The calculator shows the real yearly rate for the month you choose.

How a KSFE chitty works

  1. Sala (chitty amount) ÷ number of months = monthly instalment (subscription).
  2. Each month one member gets the prize, by auction (highest discount wins) or by draw (lot).
  3. The discount is what the winner gives up. It cannot be below the foreman’s commission (5%) or above the ceiling (30% in KSFE chitties*).
  4. KSFE takes 5% of the sala as foreman’s commission from the discount; GST at 18% on the commission is also deducted*.
  5. The rest of the discount is the “dividend”, shared equally; it is adjusted against the next instalment (Veethapalisa).
  6. The winner must give security (salary certificate, property, FD, gold, LIC policy, etc.) for the remaining instalments before the prize is paid*.

Worked example: ₹1 lakh, 50 months

MonthDiscountDividend eachYou payWinner gets
Early month, high demand30% (₹30,000)₹500₹1,500₹69,100
Middle month15% (₹15,000)₹200₹1,800₹84,100
Last month (no bidder)5% (commission only)₹0₹2,000₹94,100

Early prize = loan, late prize = savings

Your real rate depends on what the other members bid, because their discounts become your dividends. If every auction in a ₹1 lakh, 50-month chitty goes at 30%, a member who takes the prize in month 1 gets ₹69,100 and pays ₹1,500 × 50 = ₹75,000: a cost of only about 4% a year. A member who waits to the last month pays about ₹75,500 and gets ₹94,100: a return of about 11% a year. If auctions go at only 15%, the early taker’s cost is about 3.4% and the late taker earns only about 2%. In real chitties discounts are high in the early months and fall later, so early takers pay more than these figures. Enter your month to see the rate for your case.

KSFE chitty: frequently asked questions

How is KSFE chitty dividend calculated? Dividend = (auction discount − foreman commission of 5%) ÷ number of members. It is reduced from that month’s instalment.

What is the maximum discount in KSFE chitty? 30% of the sala in KSFE chitties*; the minimum is the 5% foreman commission.

How much will I get if I take the chitty in the first month? At 30% discount, sala − 30% − GST on commission: about ₹69,100 for a ₹1 lakh chitty.

Is KSFE chitty better than an FD? Only when auction discounts stay high. With 30% discounts every month a last-month taker earns about 11% a year; with 15% discounts only about 2%. An FD rate is fixed; a chitty return is not.

What security does KSFE ask for the prize money? Salary certificate of a government / approved employee, property documents, FD, gold, LIC policy, or KSFE / bank deposits, to cover future instalments*.
