AP Electricity Bill Calculator 2026-27: Domestic Slabs, Check and Pay Online

Andhra Pradesh homes pay ₹1.90 a unit for the first 30 units, then ₹3.00, ₹4.50, ₹6.00, ₹8.75 and ₹9.75 a unit as use goes up, plus a fixed charge of ₹10 per kW of load. These rates (APERC tariff order of 25 March 2026) apply from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, with no hike over last year. A home using 100 units with 1 kW load pays about ₹320; at 250 units the bill jumps to about ₹1,261. Enter the units from your bill below to see the slab-by-slab amount, and how many units are left before the next, costlier slab.

Billing is telescopic: every home gets the cheap rate for its first 30 units, the next rate for units 31–75, and so on, whatever the total. Fixed charge: ₹10 per kW (or part of a kW) of contracted load a month; above 75 kW it is ₹75 per kW for the extra load. The same tariff applies in APSPDCL, APEPDCL and APCPDCL areas. Gated communities and townships with a single HT supply pay ₹7.00 per kVAh instead.

Going from 200 to 250 units adds ₹372 to the bill, because units above 225 cost ₹8.75. Running an AC for a few hours a day in summer is usually what pushes a home past 225 or 400 units; see our cooler and fridge consumption calculators.

What else can appear on the bill

  • Electricity duty: a state levy under the AP Electricity Duty Act, 1939, charged per unit; 6 paise a unit is the long-standing rate*, and a 2026 amendment lets the state notify 6 to 100 paise for different categories*. Use the rate printed on your bill in the tool.
  • FPPCA / true-up: fuel and power purchase cost adjustment and true-up charges are billed separately per unit when ordered by APERC. For 2026-27 the state government is bearing the revenue gap, and the true-up for 2024-25 is not being charged*. If your bill shows an FPPCA line, enter its paise per unit in the tool.
  • Delayed payment surcharge: ₹25 a month if paid after the due date (15 days from the bill date). Supply can be disconnected 15 days after the due date; reconnection costs ₹100 (₹300 for an underground cable service).
  • Meter testing at your request: ₹200 for a single-phase meter, ₹500 for three-phase; if the meter is found faulty, ask for the bill to be revised.

How to check and pay your AP electricity bill online

  1. Find your discom: APEPDCL (Eastern: north coastal districts, Visakhapatnam to Godavari), APCPDCL (Central: Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam region) or APSPDCL (Southern: Nellore, Tirupati / Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool region)*. The name is printed on your bill.
  2. Note the service number (USC / unique service connection number) from the bill.
  3. Open the discom website (apspdcl.in, apeasternpower.com or apcpdcl.in) and choose “View bill” or “Pay bill”, enter the service number, and pay by UPI, card or net banking. Any UPI app’s electricity bill section (Bharat BillPay) also works with the same number.
  4. Download the receipt. A payment made on the due date can take a day to show; keep the UPI reference.
  5. Complaints (no supply, wrong bill, meter): toll-free 1912, or 1800 425 155 333 for APSPDCL.

Bill too high? Check these first

  • Billing days: if the reading was taken after 35-40 days instead of 30, more units land in the higher slabs. Ask the section office for a pro-rata correction.
  • Load: if your sanctioned load is lower than what you actually use, the discom can levy additional load charges; regularise it (application fee ₹50 for domestic).
  • Wrong category: a shop run from home on the domestic meter can be billed entirely at commercial rates (₹5.40 to ₹9.95 a unit plus ₹75 per kW fixed); take a separate commercial connection.
  • Read the meter yourself on the billing date and compare. For other steps, see what to do when the electricity bill is too high (Hindi).
