Common questions
Is Udyogini available in every state? The Udyogini scheme with a 30%–50% subsidy is run by the Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation for Karnataka residents. Other states run their own women development corporation schemes; ask your district women & child development office.
Which is best for a small first business under ₹5 lakh? Usually a Mudra (Shishu or Kishore) loan, or PMEGP if you want a subsidy on a new unit. In Karnataka, Udyogini gives the highest subsidy for loans up to ₹3 lakh.
Do I need collateral? No for Mudra, and not for loans covered under CGTMSE (90% guarantee for women). Stand-Up India loans can be backed by its own credit guarantee instead of collateral.
Do I have to pay anyone to apply? No. All these schemes are free to apply for on official portals or at bank branches.
