Add 10% (₹6,000) and 20% (₹12,000) and a ₹1,200 insurance premium: the year-1 KCC limit is ₹79,200. It grows to about ₹1,15,957 in year 5. KCC loan: frequently asked questions

How much KCC loan can I get per acre? Your limit is the scale of finance for your crop × your acres, plus 10% for household and post-harvest needs, 20% for repairs of farm assets and the crop insurance premium. Scale of finance is fixed for each crop by the district committee every year, so the same crop gets a different amount in different districts. Ask your bank for the current figure and put it in the calculator.

KCC loan for 1 bigha: how much? First convert bigha to acres, because a bigha is a different size in each state and even district. Common values: a pucca bigha in Bihar, Rajasthan and much of Uttar Pradesh is about 0.62 acre, a kachha bigha is about 0.4 acre or less, and in Assam a bigha is about 0.33 acre. Check the area in acres or hectares on your land record (khatauni / jamabandi), then enter it in the calculator. For example 3 bigha in Assam is about 1 acre.

What is the KCC interest rate? 7% a year on short-term loans up to ₹3 lakh. If you repay on time, the government gives 3% back (prompt repayment incentive), so you pay 4%. Above ₹3 lakh the bank’s normal rate applies. Budget 2025-26 announced raising the ₹3 lakh limit to ₹5 lakh, but the FY 2025-26 rules still use ₹3 lakh.

Is collateral needed for KCC? No collateral is needed for KCC limits up to ₹2 lakh (raised from ₹1.6 lakh from 1 January 2025). Above that the bank may ask for a land mortgage or other security.

Why does the KCC limit increase every year? Banks add 10% each year for 5 years to cover rising costs. A KCC is valid for 5 years with a yearly review.

Can I get KCC for dairy or fish farming? Yes. Animal husbandry and fisheries farmers can get KCC for working capital. If you only do allied activities, the 4% interest benefit applies on up to ₹2 lakh within the ₹3 lakh total.
