PMEGP gives new units a subsidy of 15% to 35% of project cost: general category 15% in towns and 25% in villages; special categories 25% and 35%. You put in 10% (general) or 5% (special) and the bank lends the rest. Projects can cost up to ₹50 lakh (manufacturing) or ₹20 lakh (service).

Worked example
A ₹10 lakh manufacturing unit in a village, general category: own share ₹1,00,000; bank loan ₹9,00,000; subsidy ₹2,50,000 kept as a 3-year fixed deposit and then adjusted against the loan. You effectively repay ₹6,50,000 — about ₹13,811 a month over 5 years at 10%.
Common questions
Who counts as special category? SC, ST, OBC, minorities, women, ex-servicemen, transgender persons, persons with disability, and applicants from the North-East, hill and border areas and aspirational districts.
Is education required? Class 8 pass for projects above ₹10 lakh in manufacturing or above ₹5 lakh in service/business.
Can an existing business apply? The first PMEGP loan is only for new units. Profitable PMEGP units can later take a second loan for upgradation.

- Free project report banayein (bank isi ko dekhta hai).
- PMEGP e-portal par apply karein — Aadhaar, PAN, photo, caste/category certificate, education proof, project report.
- KVIC / KVIB / DIC interview ke baad file bank jaati hai; bank loan sanction karta hai.
- EDP training (aam taur par 5–10 din) poori karein — tabhi subsidy release hoti hai.

PMEGP loan ke liye kaun eligible hai? 18 saal se upar koi bhi vyakti naya unit lagane ke liye. ₹10 lakh se upar manufacturing ya ₹5 lakh se upar service project ke liye kam se kam 8th pass hona zaroori hai. Chal raha business eligible nahi.
PMEGP loan ke liye apply kaise karein? KVIC ke PMEGP e-portal (kviconline.gov.in/pmegpeportal) par online form bharein, project report upload karein; agency verify karke bank ko bhejti hai, bank loan sanction karta hai, phir EDP training ke baad subsidy release hoti hai.
PMEGP mein apna paisa kitna lagta hai? General category ko project cost ka 10% aur SC/ST/OBC/mahila/minority/divyang/ex-servicemen ko 5% apna hissa lagana hota hai.
